Manufactured products typically start out as a CAD model on a designers computer screen. Before a product goes into production, prototypes are usually made of the product to examine fit, function or durability. Prototypes allow the designer to find failures early in the development cycle. Since the production tooling is not usually available early in the development process, prototypes are made from machined metal or plastic, weldments or in the case of metal stampings, "soft" tooling. Depending on the application and the number of design changes required, a single prototype or many dozen will be made.

With the client's CAD model, Paragon Systems designs the soft tooling for the stamping operations, manufactures the tooling using our CNC machining centers and then fabricates the part using one of our hydraulic or mechanical presses. Some parts will also include a combination of machined components and weldments, staking or riveting. An extensive variety of materials is stocked on-site to ensure rapid turnaround delivery.

The final product is verified dimensionally using our in-house CMM. Paragon Systems is unique in being able to support prototype and short run production with our in-house A2LA accredited testing laboratory. We can provide complete PPAP support for chemical, mechanical and metallurgical analysis as well as corrosion and durability testing.

Our fabrication capabilities are well suited to low volume production runs.
